The Challenge:
To create a E-axis-branded game for the Apple® iPhone®/iPod Touch® platform as a vehicle to test the Apple App Store™ development & distribution model. Upon success, this would facilitate adding mobile development as an offering for our clients, as well as develop our own branded lineup of apps and games.
The Execution:
Our goal was to create an addictive puzzle arcade type game that would appeal to both youth and adults alike. With riveting and exciting game play, endless levels and dynamic animations, it created a high level of repeat play. Also at a low price point (99 cents), the game was accessible by all.
All this within a theme that would allow for release of a series of games based on the same character, Dante.
The Game:
Dante, torn between heaven and hell and between good and evil, must collect the heavenly Soul Jewels to determine his place in the hereafter. Along the way, demons try and thwart Dante by destroying the landscape of purgatory, making it almost impossible to collect the Soul Jewels. But there is good on Dante's side in the form of cherubs, that lend a hand by placing power-ups and special items that help him in his task.
The Result:
Dante Conundrum was born, sweeping swiftly through the Apple App Store. Within a week of original submission, it found itself on the Apple App Store shelves. Less than a week since its launch, downloads exceeded expectations -- giving credence to our development methodology, and opening the doors to E-axis Mobile. Look out for more from Dante, as well as other exciting titles!
